Sell My Group Health Check and Audit

Our Sell My Group integration plugs into the existing Holidaymaker Health Check system. Our solution also includes a full audit system, so that you can check and resolve discrepancies between your Holidaymaker and Sell My Group system.

    Health Check

If you have the Sell my Group module enabled, then any setup issues, which would prevent a home being published, would also be flagged as a Holidaymaker record error. There are also several warnings, which are added to the existing list for homes for sale.

Extra Sell My Group error added to the record edit health check box
The same record on the list view showing that it is now errornous rather than just warnings.

    Additional Errors

    • SellMyGroup: Home name is empty – A name is required for the SMG API
    • SellMyGroup: Invalid park/location – A valid SMG Park is required to be attached to the location
    • SellMyGroup: No price set – A price is required for SMG (e.g. not a label instead)
    • SellMyGroup: Invalid condition – A mapped condition is required

    Additional Warnings

    • SellMyGroup: Unknown manufacturer – Either a manufacturer is not set in holidaymaker, or cannot be mapped
    • SellMyGroup: Unknown size/dimensions – Either a size is not set in holidaymaker, or cannot be mapped
    • SellMyGroup: Unknown rooms/bedrooms – Either bedrooms is not set in holidaymaker, or cannot be mapped
    • SellMyGroup: Pitch fees are set at 0 but not marked as included – Home is not marked to include pitch fees, but they are also set to 0
    • SellMyGroup: No features have been set – No features set in the Channel Manager Sell my Group Tab
    • SellMyGroup: No images have been set – This record has no main image, or gallery images

    Sell My Group Audit Page

The audit page gives you the control to check what is due to be published or deleted from Sell My Group on the next synchronisation cycle, and perform those changes straight away. It will also give you an at-a-glance look at any homes with errors or warnings, and any homes simply not marked to publish to SMG. This audit page has additional tools to detect any orphan homes (e.g. HM originated homes, published on SMG but no longer in Holidaymaker) and perform a full synchronisation if required.

Under the main menu in the Holidaymaker CMS there will be a new option: Holiday Homes -> SellMyGroup Audit

    Pending Changes and Main Table

The audit page requests a full list of homes from Sell My Group, and detects which ones originated from Holidaymaker. It will then check over your Holidaymaker home records, and detect which ones should be published to Sell My Group, to then give you a health check and status on each of them.

    • If there are not any homes that require action, then the ‘Pending Changes’ section will not be present
    • If there are homes that require action, this section will include an ‘Apply Changes Now’ button, to force the changes rather than waiting for the Holidaymaker Web Service to trigger them
Pending Changes notice with button to rush those changes along. Table below give more information on changes waiting to be synched

This table includes the ID/Name of the home, and if published already, will show a link to view it on Sell My Group.

The Health Check and Status columns will give you a simple visual representation of the current status of your data.

    Health Check

This column renders the same errors and warnings found in the above documented health check. It will render in the following ways:

    • ✅ Record is healthy
    • 🚫 Errors: {{Error List}}
    • ⚠️ Warnings: {{Warning List}}

    Status

The status column it more complex, and takes into account if records have been flagged as needing to be published, but also if they already exist on the Sell My Groups System. The following statements would be shown here:

    • ✅ Record is published : No action needed – All good!
    • ⬆️ Set to be published, or updated : Marked to be actioned – Will create new or update existing on SMG
    • ⬆️ Set to be deleted as unable to publish : Marked to be actioned – Will delete existing record on SMG as it has been deleted, or no longer valid
    • 🚫 Not published or unable to publish : No action needed – Record doesn’t exist on SMG and is not valid, so will not be published
    • ⁉️ This should be published. Edit and save or full sync to rectify : Full sync needed (or re-save existing record) – Does not exist on SMG and should be published, and is valid to do so. Something has gone wrong, as it is not marked to be actioned.
    • ⁉️ This should NOT be published but is! Edit and save, or full sync to rectify : Similar to above however this does exist on SMG, but is not valid, so shouldn’t. Something has gone wrong, as it is not marked to be actioned.

    Audit Requests

There is another column on the table, labelled ‘Audit Requests’. This should be used if you have a query about a specific home record on Sell My Group. There may a data or image discrepancy, which you can self-service a check and resolve, before escalating to the Holidaymaker support.

This page will firstly render a complete list of images, and the order they are sent to Sell My Group. The first image will be highlighted with a border, as this image is marked as the ‘Primary Image’

Example individual audit page with image ordering at the top

    Data Packets

The next part of this audit page shows four large text fields. Three of these are side-by-side in columns, with one below them. These contain JSON data which is sent back and forth to the SMG API, so you can check specifically:

    • What packet are we expected to send (in next publish)
    • What was the actual last packet sent (in last publish)
    • What is the current published packet on SMG (requested that moment)
    • What response did we receive from SMG (in last publish)

This data is generally human readable, and should give you an idea of why things may not match. Note: Our outgoing packet of data to SMG just includes ID numbers for various things (Tenure, Condition, Manufacturer etc), however when we request that data from SMG, it often will include the name instead. This can be confusing, but can still match up what is required when troubleshooting mis-matches between the two systems.

Example three columns showing the data packets

    Orphan Homes and Full Sync

If in an odd circumstance (maybe after first adding Sell My Group), there are some Holidaymaker agent referenced homes on your Sell My Group system, which DO NOT match up to anything in your CMS, these are considered orphaned. If you apply a forced full synchronisation, these records will then be deleted from Sell My Group.

At the bottom of the page is a button to proceed with a Full Sync. Doing this will look at every single home on your holidaymaker system, and re-publish/update, or delete it from Sell My Group (if it exists), regardless of whether they have been marked as needing action or not.

This will also look at any ‘Orphan’ homes that exist on Sell My Group, but not in your Holidaymaker CMS and delete them.
