Apple Intelligence is Apple’s suite of on-device AI features, available on compatible iPhones and iPads running iOS 26 or later. Where it’s available and switched on, the app uses it to make content easier to read, help guests find things faster, and explain why something has been recommended to them.
Everything Apple Intelligence does in the app runs directly on the guest’s device. Nothing is sent to a server — not their search queries, not their preferences, not the content they’re reading. Apple’s own privacy rules for Apple Intelligence apply throughout.
These features are optional. Guests choose whether to enable them in the app, and they can turn individual features on or off independently. Guests who don’t have a compatible device, or who would rather not use AI features, won’t see them — the app works as normal without them.
A note on versions
Different features became available at different iOS versions. This chapter notes which version each feature requires. Guests on older software simply won’t see those features, even if their device would otherwise be capable.
