Long-form content in the app — event descriptions, place write-ups, offer details, route information — can be lengthy. The summaries feature lets guests get the key points quickly without reading everything.
What the guest does
They tap a button on a content page. The app passes the full text to the on-device model, which reads it and generates a plain-English summary of 2–3 sentences. The summary appears on screen as it’s being written — word by word — rather than appearing all at once.
How it handles long content
Some content is very long. If the text is too large to process in one go, the app splits it into sections, summarises each one separately, then combines those summaries and produces a final version. The guest just sees the end result — the chunking process happens invisibly.
Language support
Summaries are only available in languages supported by Apple Intelligence. If a guest’s device is set to an unsupported language, the option is greyed out and a message explains why. The app checks this automatically — staff don’t need to manage it.
Info
This feature won’t produce a summary if the content triggers Apple’s own content restrictions — in that case the guest sees a message explaining the content couldn’t be summarised. This is handled by Apple’s guardrails and is not something configurable in the app.
