Multiple parks
The app runs across several parks from a single platform. Siri and Spotlight always work against the park the guest currently has selected. Switch parks in the app and the search index updates immediately — guests will only ever see results relevant to wherever they are.
Guest types and restricted content
The same content rules that apply inside the app apply in Siri and Spotlight. If an FAQ is owner-only, it won’t appear in a standard guest’s Siri results. If an offer is segment-restricted, it won’t show in Spotlight for guests outside that segment. There’s no way for Siri to surface something a guest wouldn’t ordinarily be able to see.
Bookings work differently: they aren’t covered by any park switch. Show My Booking and a booking’s Spotlight entry are available whenever a guest is signed in and has a booking, and are removed when they sign out. Signing out also clears the guest’s Siri and Spotlight content and any half-finished “open this item” hand-over.
Turning features on and off
Each feature can be switched on independently, per park:
- FAQ search and Spotlight indexing
- Events search and browse
- Places search
- Routes search
- Offers search
- Home Sales search
- Welcome Pack search
Info
These switches are CMS-driven and off by default — a park’s Siri and Spotlight features stay dark until someone configures them on for that park.
When a feature is off, its content is removed from the Spotlight index and if a guest tries to use the Siri shortcut, they’ll be told it isn’t available at their park. The in-app carousel also updates to remove phrases for anything that’s been turned off — so guests are never prompted to try something that won’t work.
Holding back individual items
Separately from those park-wide switches, each FAQ, event, place, route, offer and home for sale has its own flag in the CMS to keep just that one item out of Siri, Spotlight and Shortcuts. The item stays fully visible in the app — lists, in-app search and its own page — and is also kept away from Apple Intelligence summaries. A park can have FAQs switched on for Siri and still hold three particular FAQs back. If the flag is set on an item that’s already in Spotlight, it’s removed the next time the app syncs. Homes for sale marked as sold are withheld in the same way automatically.
Changes to the park-wide switches are managed through the server-side config. Get in touch with the development team if anything needs adjusting.
Warning
Each of these switches actually depends on two things being on together — the Siri/Spotlight switch itself, and that content type’s own underlying service being enabled for the park. So it’s possible for a park to have, say, FAQ search switched on for Siri, but still not see it working if FAQs themselves are switched off at the service level. If a feature isn’t showing up as expected, it’s worth checking both.
