App Shortcuts

The moment a guest installs the app, a set of ready-made actions appears in their iOS Shortcuts app — nothing to configure, nothing to turn on. These are called App Shortcuts.

Guests can run them from the Shortcuts app, add them to automations, put them on their home screen as one-tap icons, or just say the phrase to Siri whenever they like.

    What’s included

Every holiday park app has eight shortcuts:

    ShortcutWhat it does
Search FAQsAsks what the guest would like to know, then answers it from the park’s information or searches FAQs
Search EventsAsks what to search for, then searches What’s On
Search Welcome PackAsks what to search for, then searches the welcome pack
Search PlacesAsks what to search for, then searches places
Search RoutesAsks what to search for, then searches routes
Search OffersAsks what to search for, then searches offers
Search Holiday HomesAsks what to search for, then searches homes for sale
Show My BookingShows the guest’s current booking

    Info

Apple caps a single app at 10 registered shortcuts — this list uses 8 of the 10, leaving two free. Siri Global Search isn’t one of the eight: it works through a phrase iOS itself understands rather than a registered shortcut. Every content type asks for a keyword the same way, except Events, which can also be browsed by time period with no keyword — see Siri: Searching by Voice and Siri: Browsing Without Searching.

    For staff

There’s nothing to manage here — shortcuts appear automatically, and the phrases are the same across every holiday park app; only the app’s own name substitutes into each phrase.

    Apps that aren’t holiday parks

Five apps on the platform aren’t holiday parks and rename their sections, so they have their own, smaller set of shortcuts with their own wording, titles and icons instead of the eight above: Acresfield Spa, Dorchester, Tozers, Southwest Awards and Stables. Each has three or four shortcuts (FAQs, events, places and, for some, offers) — for example Acresfield Spa’s are “Info and FAQ”, “Class Timetable”, “Experiences” and “Offers”, and Tozers has “Q&A”, “Events” and “ParkLaw”. They have no booking, routes, holiday homes or welcome pack shortcuts. See Customising Search & Shortcuts for the full picture of what can and can’t be tailored.

    Locked phones

The seven search shortcuts can be answered from the lock screen, as they only use public park information. Show My Booking always asks the guest to unlock first, because it reads out dates and a balance.

Show My Booking usage is tracked in analytics, so staff can see how often guests are using it. Tapping a booking result in Spotlight opens the booking itself directly.
